A major accident was narrowly averted at Chennai airport. A fire broke out in one of the engines of an international cargo flight arriving from Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
The incident reportedly occurred during landing. However, airport personnel managed to bring the fire under control.
According to official sources, there were no casualties. Reports suggest that the fire erupted in the fourth engine of the cargo flight during descent, following which the pilots informed the relevant authorities.
